The Swedish Election for the European Parliament will be held on June 9, 2024. From abroad you can choose to vote by postal mail, or to vote early in person (förtidsrösta) at different voting locations throughout the U.S. 

All eligible voters who are abroad during the voting period may vote from abroad. This applies to both those living abroad on a permanent basis and those who are abroad temporarily.

Please keep in mind that you cannot vote on Election Day while abroad. Only early voting (förtidsröstning) is possible outside of Sweden.

The first date for early voting is May 16, 2024.

In Arizona you have two different days to vote early, in person:

  • Thursday May 16, 10:00 AM MST – 2:00 PM MST
  • Wednesday May 22, 10:00 AM MST – 2:00 PM MST
    Early voting is drop-in. No registration needed.

Eligibility to Vote

  • To be eligible to vote, you must turn 18 no later than on Election Day (June 9, 2024).
  • To be eligible to vote, you must be a Swedish citizen and you must have, at some point, resided in Sweden (folkbokförd).
  • You must bring a valid ID (passport or driver license) to the in person voting.
