The General Elections to the Swedish Riksdag (parliament), Municipal Assemblies and Regional Council Assemblies are held in Sweden on September 11, 2022.

From abroad Swedish citizens can choose to vote by postal mail, or to vote in person at different voting locations throughout the U.S.  

Only early voting (förtidsröstning) is possible outside of Sweden.

In Arizona you have three different days to vote early, in person:

  • Thursday August 18 9:00 AM MST – 2:00 PM MST
  • Saturday August 20 9:00 AM MST – 2:00 PM MST
  • Tuesday August 23 9:00 AM MST – 2:00 PM MST

Early voting is drop-in. No registration needed.

Eligibility to Vote

  • To be eligible to vote, you must turn 18 no later than on Election Day (September 11, 2022).
  • To be eligible to vote in the parliamentary (Riksdag) election, you must be a Swedish citizen and you must have, at some point, resided in Sweden (folkbokförd).
  • You must bring a valid ID (passport or driver license) to the in person voting.
